Reading a play aloud is a great way to hear the language of The Bard, to learn the plays and appreciate the range of characters.

These Tuesday evenings,  a different Shakespeare play is featured each month.  Everyone who attends will draw a part from a hat and will read that part.  If we have 2 people attend, each will read multiple parts.  If we have 20 people attend, we will draw from the hat after each Act.  At the end of each act, we draw again and each person gets a new part. Everyone will read unless you just want to hear the language.  After all, it is all about the language.

Imagine reading one of the lesser-known plays like Titus Andronicus or Cymbeline or King John or Coriolanus or The Winter’s Tale or Love’s Labor’s Lost or another of some 37 plays.  It could be an abridged version or the complete play.  The play will be announced shortly before the first reading of the month.

There is a short break after an hour.  The reading on the second day will pick up where the first session left off.

By reading together, perhaps we can appreciate the language together, and  have a grand time!
