Metronome: A Reading

Barker Playhouse in Providence, Rhode Island will host the reading of a new play “Metronome” by Judith Strang-Waldau on Saturday, May 6, 2023.  The rehearsal is scheduled to begin in the Green Room at 3:00, with a break for dinner, and a free-to-attend reading of the play for guests beginning at 7:00. A question-and-answer session will follow with the actors, director, and playwright.

 

The reading will be with the script in hand. 

 

“Metronome” is the story of an extremely gifted pianist on the autism spectrum whose talent and day-to-day challenges affect the lives of her equally accomplished family members.

 

We are looking for actors to read the following roles:

 

  • DEBRA (female)  50’s, mother, a former concert pianist*.

  • IZZIE (female) 18, daughter.  Looking for an actress who is on the autism spectrum.

  • SAM (male) 60’s, father.

  • DANIEL (male) 20, brother.

  • NATALIA (female) 35, piano teacher*.

 *Ability to play the piano is not required for this reading.
